Rebel without an UGG

We can all recognize those men who have the appeal of being a little bit bad and completely unattainable. Brando’s harsh edge in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof; James Dean’s smoldering look in, well, anything; Johnny Depp with his quirky but edgy characters; Bruce Willis, the man who will be conquering villains til he’s 80, with or without his hair. And Samuel L. Jackson as the most articulate gangster in Pulp Fiction.

These are men who play characters we know could destroy the bad guys, save the world, and marry the beautiful love of his life/have a pained and unhealthy yearning for the woman he’ll never get.

There’s an odd appeal to these men. We know they’re heart breakers, wracked with inner turmoil, yet women will time and again dream of those men with  a devil may care attitude toward the world.

Now granted, this is a shameless plug, but I do enjoy that the UGG Rockville and Gallatin kind of remind me of those rough and tumble biker gangs, such as those Hunter S. Thompson might have cavorted with. Regardless of whether you realistically like the “bad boy,” it’s fun to toy with the idea that you would be brazen enough to pursue one of them. Shoes are a paltry substitute, but take a gander: you can picture those boots on any one of those famous action stars, and it’s an attractive thought….
