To drive the cold winter away…

It is very cold today. I spent about 5 minutes huddled in my car waiting for it to warm up so it would move without shuddering to a depressed and time-consuming halt. It’s grey, cold, and it’s Monday. If ever there was a day for UGG footwear this it it.

Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about and dealing with my car. It is kind of a clunker, and therefore requires a little more TLC. Since we’re hitting winter, this also means that I have to bundle up whenever I want to go anywhere via 4-wheeled transportation. There’s the time it takes for the car to warm up, sitting in the cold car waiting for the vents to forget their  petulant behavior and actually push warm air toward me, rather than it’s Nissan impression of the Ice Man.

When my car has finished idling in the driveway it’s time to move. This does not necessarily mean my windows have defrosted, a process that can take minutes upon minutes. Therefore, in order to turn I have to roll my windows down, mingling the freezing air with my car’s feeble attempt at heating.

Needless to say, driving these days is a cold endeavor. So, when I wake up to a cold Monday morning, there is no way I am wearing anything but UGG. I find warmth and comfort in my UGG Australia Classic Short boots. Ah, dear UGG: you warm my toes in a way my car no longer can…

The Perfect UGG

We all strive for excellence to a certain degree. Some of us even seek to obtain Perfection. As students we want the best grades, as employees we want the promotion, musicians want the Grammy and writers go for the Nobel Prize.

When you are constantly on the look out for something better, you tend to miss what you’ve got, and to forget that the best things are beautiful marred.

I’ve heard many people complain when they receive an UGG Australia shoe that isn’t “perfect.” The dye transfers a little, or the fleece feels different than the last pair they groped. It’s hard to remember that it’s the unique quality to a handmade item that makes it so precious. Each sheep is a little different, so it makes sense that the fleece has variations as well. Dye transfer is just a side effect of a natural product that has undergone deep pigmentation. One of my favorite pair of ballet flats from Italy turned my feet black for about a month, but they remain one of my favorite (and handmade!) pair of shoes.

Perfection is fine, but it certainly is boring. Wouldn’t we all like a little more variation in whatever way we can get it?

UGG on the Bus

This was an UGG filled morning. Due to the fact that my car decided to take an impromptu hiatus from functioning, I had to take the bus to work this morning. As I walked toward the bus stop I noticed two high school girls, each wearing jeans tucked in to a pair of UGG Classic Talls. Ironically enough, the brunette one was wearing Chocolate and the blonde was wearing Chestnut UGG boots.

I figured they were friends who had decided to wear their UGG boots today, and kept on walking. But then I got closer to the stop and saw ANOTHER girl wearing a pair of the Classic Crochet Tall! I suddenly felt out of the loop, as though I ought to have chosen a fuzzier footwear choice this morning, rather than clunking over to the bus stop in my Danskos.

The feeling of shame has subsided, now that I am wearing my own pair of UGG boots. I may not be a cool high schooler anymore, but at least I can still dress like one!

The City That Never Sleeps without UGG

New York City. The Big Apple. Times Square, Broadway, Greenwich Village, SoHo and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The City That Never Sleeps.

Whether you like big cities or not you’ve got to admit that Manhattan is unlike any other. For a city with everything to offer, it’s no wonder that the island has about 55 UGG Australia retailers and that’s not even counting the other boroughs!

Clearly, New York is a city full of people who love their UGG boots. And really, who can blame them! The one winter I experienced in New York was bitterly cold and windy; it took about 5 layers and a nip of brandy to keep warm between the subway and my destination.

However, now I know how New Yorkers survive their brutal winters: UGG. What better place for a boot that helps keep your entire body warm in frigid temperatures?

New York is also known as a fashion mecca, home of Fashion Week, Saks Fifth Avenue and Vogue. So it makes sense that UGG boots would have a strong presence in this city, as the brand solidifies itself as a fashionable item.

Of course, the down side to such a wonderful city is that the it comes with a higher price tag. But now you can get your UGG boots online at FleeceFootwear.com! No sales tax, free shipping and you still get the same great boot you can find at UGG Australia retail stores! Whether going for a walk in Central Park, seeing a show on Broadway, or driving in your car wishing you were walking through the Little Italy or Chinatown, UGG boots are the way to go.

Halloween Review

I had a wonderful Halloween this year. I dressed up, watched the local Halloween parade, gave out candy, then got into my PJ’s and watched classic fright-night movies on cable.  Good times were had by all!

The best part was watching everyone’s costumes in the parade. I was surprised to see a vast array of costumes that incorporated UGG into their concept.  I saw a girl dressed as a dog with Classic Tall Sand boots for her puppy paws.

I saw an Eskimo who utilized the cozy fleece boots to complete their Yukon-inspired ensemble. There were also farm hands, witches, and some undecipherable costumes that decided to rock the UGG bootsfor Halloween this year.eskimo-woman-in-native-costume

As for me, I donned my fuzzy UGG boots with my vampire costume. It was cold, and I figured that with fake teeth and fake blood I was costumey enough to wear uncharacteristic shoes. Besides, trick-or-treating in heels is cold!
