Patriots earn UGG Boots

If I found a pair of UGG boots at my desk it would be normal. I handle UGG boots all day long.  If that box contained a note saying, “Good job! These UGG boots are for you.” I would be excited.  That’s just what happened to lucky members of the New England Patriots football team.

A Boston Globe reporter, Shalise Manza Young, while visiting the Foxboro stadium tweeted that like Christmas morning a Secret UGG Santa had left a pair of UGG boots for each of the sixty-six players in front of their lockers.  Naturally one might think that UGG Santa was QB Tom Brady, who addition to be a big fan of UGG footwear in his leisure time, is UGG® Australia’s most prominent celebrity endorser.  Yet, as reported the note enclosed in each pair of UGG Stoneman boots (which is what they got), said ‘Congratulations for making it to Super Bowl XLVI, the UGG®Australia team.’

UGG®Australia is probably collectively kicking them selves for not having the foresight to book Superbowl airtime for their TV spot featuring the fancy footwork of Mr. Brady.  Maybe they will get their ‘thank you’ if a winning Patriot answers the classic question, “You’ve just won the Superbowl, what are you going to do now?” with a resounding “I’m going to go put on my UGG boots and finally relax!”

As a professional UGG boot wrangler I have one remaining question about this grand gesture, “How did UGG® get all sixty-six shoe sizes?” I will have to ask my husband this Sunday.

Post Holiday Trickery

Following the Christmas holiday season, we are always overflowing with returns.  Someone needed the sand and not the chestnut, a slipper and not a boot, a 7 and not a 9, etc.  Every so often we get a questionable return and our experts jump on it!  Sometimes we receive FAKES.

If you follow us, you know that we are specialists when it comes to spotting a counterfeit UGG, and educating shoppers on how to spot a site that is a NO-NO.  As you know, buying from a website with ‘ugg’ listed in the URL is an IMMEDIATE sign that the site is NOT an authorized retailer of UGG boots.  Uggaustralia.com is the only site allowing ugg in their site name, which is why we are Fleecefootwear.com.  But how can you tell just by looking at a pair of UGG boots if they are the real deal?  Here are some prime examples of a return we received and caught, thanks to our pros.

Kim Kardashian celebrates the Duchess

Kate Middleton recently celebrated her 30th birthday and a shoe was created just for her.  Kim Kardashian, owner of ShoeDazzle.com, helped to create ‘the Duchess’, a quilted black leather pump reminiscent of previous Chanel styles.  Some critics think the shoe is a wonderful birthday nod, while others are disappointed, saying these are absolutely not the taste level of the Duchess.  What do YOU think?

The Most Interesting Global Holiday Traditions

The Winter holiday season is widely celebrated across the globe.  Some countries celebrating Santa and his bag full of gifts, and some just fighting off evil spirits.  Here is our list of favorites.

1. Ukrainian Spider Webs

In the Ukrain there is a folk tale of a poor woman who woke on Christmas morning to find her Christmas tree covered in webs of silver and gold.  Current tradition is that you string an artificial web along with your lights and tinsel and hide a tiny fake spider to help weave your luck for the next year.  Is this one just too creepy for you?  Try a Spiderman ornament for that special guy in your life, he will love it and you will get good luck.

2. Hide the Christmas Pickle

Have you ever noticed those green pickle ornaments around this time of year?  It turns out that in German tradition the last ornament to be hung is a glass pickle, preferably passed down from generation to generation.  The pickle is supposed to be hidden, and the lucky child who finds it on Christmas morning gets a special gift and and luck the whole next year.  The German pickle tradition hit America in the 1880s when the popular store Woolworths began importing them.  My family is starting this tradition ASAP.

3. Toss a shoe, find a man

Single ladies, pay attention.  In the Czech republic a simple Christmas Eve tradition may just find you a husband.  Stand outside with your back to your door and toss one shoe over your shoulder.  If it lands with the toe facing the door, you are going to get married within the next year.  As UGG lovers here, we do not suggest tossing your UGG boots its cold on Christmas Eve!  Maybe try tossing a high heel, add some feminine charm to the cosmos.  Not ready to settle THAT quick?  Try an ornament from our friends over at Kaboodle.com

THROW A HEEL, not your UGGS!!!!!

4. Kentucky Fried Chicken

Christmas traditions in Asia are very similar to ours here in the West, Santa, Christmas lights, and KFC.  Just kidding.  In the last 20 years Japan has become shaped by commercial interests shaped by the good ole USA.  KFC has become the spot for their Christmas Day feast, and it usually involves reservations.

5.  Stir the pudding!

In Great Britain it is tradition to gather the family around the holiday pudding and give everyone a stir.  Legend has it if you mix your pudding clockwise and make a wish it will come true.

6. Skate to Church

Clearly, Caracas, Venezuela is not snowy during Christmas like so many other places.  Tradition in Caracas is that churchgoers put on their skates and speed down the closed off streets.  I wonder how difficult it is to skate in a Santa costume?

Bella needs new UGG boots

In the first and second films of the Twilight Saga, actress Kristen Stewart wore UGG®Adirondack II boots in Otter.

Bella likes to wear her pair of Adirondack II loosely laced with her jeans tucked in.

Her character Bella Swan likes to flip up the cuffs, leave them barely laced and tuck her slim jeans into them as she shuffles around the beaches and forests of majestic Forks. This year the Adirondack II is available in several stunning color combinations including Black  Grey, Otter, Obsidian, and Blackberry Wine. Also available from UGG®Australia is the Adirondack Tall (my personal favorite, that I just had to have) for those of you who like to go one step above and beyond. Any boot from the Cold Weather Collection will take care of you if it’s winter or like Bella, live on Washington’s Olympic peninsula. The first half of the final installment of the saga, Breaking Dawn, opens all over the country this week. (*Spoiler*) Bella and Edward will get to enjoy the boot optional weather of a South American honeymoon, but when they return what kind of UGG® boot will suit the more experienced Bella Cullen?

Post your thoughts here.

Men's Herrick in Chocolate

Ugg sales were up 47.3% in the third quarter. According to Angel Martinez, CEO of Deckers Outdoor Corp (Ugg Australia’s parent company), the increase in revenue was driven by higher domestic wholesale demand, a wider selection of men’s footwear and apparel, and the introduction of several new styles.

In the third quarter, sales in the United States grew 26% to $257.9 million, with an overseas sales increase a whopping 113.8% to $156.4 million. While Deckers has several other shoe brands under its umbrella, Ugg remains to be their largest and most well-known brand. So all of us, all over the world are enjoying our genuine Ugg Australia boots and accessories.

Our Favorite of the Most Popular 2011 Christmas Gifts

Hi guys, gift giving season is now upon us!  Here is a guide to a few of our favorites for Christmas 2011.  Not Surprisingly on all the top lists out there, are UGG BOOTS.  Obviously we love this pick!  But you should step out of the box.  Buy some of the mens boots or a pair of the slippers.

Next on our list, FOOTED PAJAMAS FOR ADULTS.  Yes, the cute head to toe comfort you enjoyed as a kid is now available in adult sizes, and became even more popular thanks to Ryan Goslin, and his appearance on the Ellen show, where everyone he gifted every audience member with a pair.   How Oprah of him!  Safety note, as much as you want to slide through the kitchen, it’s best to get the ones with the safety footing, because crashing into a counter is much more painful at 35 then it was at 5.

This next pick is actually something we are on the fence about, but it deserves a mention strictly for amusement reasons.  LASER HAIR REMOVAL.   Clearly this is for the friend or family member that has mentioned some interest, and not a surprise for grandma and that goatee she has been cultivating.

Last, but not least, there is a whole new line of Lego products created this year.  What a great gift to give to your favorite little one, or grown up who needs a reminder to play and create.  Here is a good example of what our office would create if we had a Lego playtime.
